Gracie had cut, CUT!! her bangs off. Right to the scalp right in the middle of her head.
There is no hiding this.
She gave herself a reverse mohawk, her own cowlick.
And she is happy about it!!! 
I, on the other hand, was not happy!

Devon was about 4 when she cut her own hair... She cut her bangs & a little bit on the side. She came downstairs SO proud of herself. "Look Mamma, I cut my bangs!" It was hard to not yell at her... She was really beaming! I told her how beautiful she was and warned her of using scissors without Mommie... She did a good job actually on her bangs, the side of her hair you could see scalp...
She had to get a butch cut the next day. It took almost a year & 1/2 before it was normal length again...

All of my kids cut their own hair. If you remember, Andrew cut MINE when I was sleeping?!? All you can hope for is that they leave yours alone, and that the other 2 cut theirs during summer break and NOT just before class pictures. But all in all, you have to admit....."That this IS the best stuff!!!"
